| Abstract | Fire is one of the potential hazards that can cause major losses in the workplace, especially in the palm oil plantation industry. Skills in using Fire Extinguishers are one of the important efforts in fire prevention and emergency response in the workplace. Fire prevention training and work motivation are considered to be related to workers’ skills in using fire extinguishers. This study aimed to determine the relationship between fire prevention training and work motivation with skills in using fire extinguishers among employees at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Kebun Adolina in 2026. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study consisted of 70 respondents using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between fire prevention training and skills in using fire extinguishers (p-value = 0.004), and there was a relationship between work motivation and skills in usingn fire extinguishers (p-value = 0.001). The conclusion of this study showed that there is a relationship between fire prevention training and work motivation with skills in usingn fire extinguishers among employees at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional II Kebun Adolina in 2026. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the company formalize and evenly distribute fire response training, expand simulation exercise, and periodically evaluate employees’ skills in using fire extinguisher; that OHS management continuously monitor, evaluate, and develop employee competence; that employees actively participate and take invitative to improve their skills, and that future researchers add other influencing variables to produce more comprehensive results | 1 |
