| Abstract | Chlorine is a hazardous chemical widely used as a disinfectant in water treatment industries. Although highly effective, chlorine leakage can pose serious health and safety risks to workers. However, evidence regarding the effectiveness of chlorine drill simulations in improving emergency response remains limited, particularly in water treatment industries. This study aimed to determine correlation between chlorine drill simulation as an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) program and workers' ability to respond to chlorine leakage at PT Tirta Lyonnaise Medan in 2026. A structured questionnaire was administered to obtain research data, which were subsequently examined using Fisher's Exact Test with a 0.05 sig. threshold. The investigation adopted a quantitative analytical approach based on a cross-sectional design and involved 40 workers, all of whom were included through total sampling. In this study, chlorine drill simulation was treated as predictor variable, whereas chlorine leakage response represented the outcome variable. Of the 40 respondents, 62.5% demonstrated good participation in chlorine drill simulations and 62.5% showed good chlorine leakage response. Statistical analysis revealed a significant correlation chlorine drill simulation and chlorine leakage response (p = 0.003), indicating effective emergency drills contribute to better worker preparedness. Conclusion: Chlorine drill simulation as part of OSH program is significantly associated with workers' ability to respond to chlorine leakage. Regular and continuous emergency drill simulations are recommended to strengthen workers' emergency preparedness and reduce occupational risks associated with chlorine leakage.
