| Abstract | Knowledge is a predisposing factor that plays an important role in shaping healthcare workers' compliance behavior toward the implementation of Hospital Occupational Health and Safety (HOSH). Nurses, as the largest group of healthcare workers in hospitals, have a high risk of exposure to biological, physical, and chemical hazards, making compliance in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) critically important. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge of HOSH and compliance with HOSH implementation at RSUD Dr. Tengku Mansyur Tanjungbalai City in 2026. This study used a quantitative method with an observational analytic design and a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all nurses assigned to the Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Inpatient Unit at RSUD dr. Tengku Mansyur Tanjungbalai City, totaling 127 people, with a sample of 96 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires adopted from Ratuk & Manes (2019). Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge, namely 41 respondents (42.7%), and most were compliant with HOSH implementation, namely 71 respondents (74.0%). The Chi-Square test results showed a Pearson Chi-Square value of 21.186 with p-value = 0.001 (p < 0.05), thus it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between nurses' knowledge of HOSH and compliance in the use of PPE with HOSH implementation at RSUD dr. Tengku Mansyur Tanjungbalai City in 2026. It is recommended that the hospital improve periodic HOSH training programs and strengthen supervision of PPE use across all service units. | 1 |
