| Abstract | Factors Associated With The Use Of Personal Protective Equipment (Ppe) Among Rice Mill Workers In Juhar Village, Karo Regency, 2026 ¹Bachelor of Public Health Study Program Faculty of Public Health Institut Kesehatan Deli Husada Deli Tua Background: Rice mill workers are exposed to various occupational hazards, including rice dust, machine noise, and the risk of injuries caused by work equipment. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is one of the most important measures to prevent occupational accidents and work-related diseases. Compliance with PPE use is influenced by several factors; therefore, it is necessary to identify the factors associated with PPE use among rice mill workers. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitude, supervision, and PPE availability and the use of PPE among rice mill workers in Juhar Village, Karo Regency, in 2026. Methods: This study employed a quantitative analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 128 rice mill workers, with a sample of 97 respondents selected using the simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). Results: The results showed significant relationships between knowledge (p = 0.005), attitude (p = 0.033), supervision (p = 0.011), and PPE availability (p = 0.034) and the use of PPE among rice mill workers. Conclusion: Knowledge, attitude, supervision, and PPE availability were significantly associated with PPE use among rice mill workers in Juhar Village, Karo Regency. Therefore, rice mill owners are encouraged to improve worker education, strengthen workplace supervision, and ensure adequate PPE availability to increase compliance with PPE use and reduce the risk of occupational accidents and work-related diseases. | 1 |
