| Abstract | Occupational dermatitis is one of the most common skin disease suffered by beauty salon workers who are exposed to chemical cosmetic agents. Background: This study sought to ascertain the correlation type of cosmetic chemicals exposure duration, exposure frequency and the Types of Chemical that cause dermatitis risk among beauty salon workers in Deli Tua district Deli Serdang Regency In 2026. The quantitative research design with cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The sample is 30 salon workers taken by total sampling technique. We collected data by a validated & reliable questionnaire. The data were analyzed with univariate analysis, and bivariate analysis using Pearson correlation test and Spearman correlation test based on the normality test. It was reported that exposure time had a significant association with the risk of dermatitis (r = 0.426; p = 0.019). On the other hand, exposure frequency (r = 0.214; p = 0.256) and types of cosmetic chemicals (r = −0.219; p = 0.246) were not significantly associated with risk taking dermatitis events. The results highlight that exposure duration is related to the risk of dermatitis caused by cosmetic chemicals among salon workers, but exposure frequency and types of chemical do not appear to be significantly associated. The recommendation is to hop up the personal protective equipment in salon workers and limit facial encounters with cosmetic chemicals to as short of period as feasible to cut down on the risk for occupational dermatitis. | 1 |
