| Abstract | Waste management in traditional markets remains an important environmental health issue that may affect environmental cleanliness and public health. Traders' participation in waste management is influenced by several factors, including knowledge, attitude, and the availability of waste management facilities. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitude, and the availability of waste management facilities and traders' participation in waste management at Pringgan Market, Medan, in 2026. This study employed a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 70 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that most respondents had good knowledge, positive attitudes, adequate waste management facilities, and good participation in waste management. The Chi-Square analysis indicated significant relationships between knowledge and traders’ participation (p-value = 0.000 < 0.05), attitude and traders participation (p-value = 0.002 < 0.05), and the availability of waste management facilities and traders' participation (p-value = 0.001 < 0.05). It can be concluded that knowledge, attitude, and the availability of waste management facilities are significantly associated with traders’ participation in waste management at Pringgan Market, Medan, in 2026.
