| Abstract | The use of pesticides without complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) can increase the risk of pesticide poisoning among farmers. The prevention of pesticide poisoning is influenced by various factors, such as knowledge, attitudes, PPE usage habits, PPE availability, and PPE comfort. This study aimed to determine the factors influencing PPE use and the prevention of pesticide poisoning among farmers in Juhar Village, Karo Regency, in 2026. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of all farmers in Juhar Village, with a sample size of 71 respondents selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that there were significant relationships between knowledge (p = 0.002), attitudes (p = 0.004), PPE usage habits (p = 0.003), PPE availability (p = 0.021), and PPE comfort (p = 0.006) with the prevention of pesticide poisoning among farmers. Good knowledge, positive attitudes, proper PPE usage habits, adequate PPE availability, and comfortable PPE use play an important role in improving pesticide poisoning prevention efforts. It was concluded that all studied variables had significant relationships with the prevention of pesticide poisoning among farmers. Therefore, increased education, adequate PPE provision, and supervision of PPE use are needed to minimize the risk of pesticide poisoning.
