| Abstract | Musculoskeletal complaints are one of the most common occupational health problems experienced by oil palm plantation workers due to physically demanding and repetitive work activities. Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) harvesters are at high risk of developing musculoskeletal complaints because of non-ergonomic working postures and heavy lifting activities. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between work ergonomics and lifting load weight with musculoskeletal complaints among FFB harvesters at PTPN IV Regional II Dolok Ilir in 2026. This study employed a quantitative analytical research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 58 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, lifting load measurements, and the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that most respondents had high-risk work ergonomics (53.4%), lifted loads greater than 25 kg (56.9%), and experienced high levels of musculoskeletal complaints (75.9%). The Chi-Square test indicated a significant relationship between work ergonomics and musculoskeletal complaints (p-value = 0.002) and between lifting load weight and musculoskeletal complaints (p-value = 0.032). In conclusion, there were significant relationships between work ergonomics and lifting load weight with musculoskeletal complaints among FFB harvesters at PTPN IV Regional II Dolok Ilir in 2026. | 1 |
