| Abstract | Employee performance is a key factor in determining the success of hospitals in providing quality health services. Employee performance is influenced by several factors, including work discipline, workload and competency. Preliminary observations conducted at Hidayah Deli Tua General Hospital indicated problems related to punctuality, workload and employee competency that were assumed to affect employee performance. This study is aimed to determine the relationship between work discipline, workload and competency with employee performance at Hidayah Deli Tua General Hospital in 2026. This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 99 employees, all of whom were included as the study sample using a total sampling technique. Data were collected by using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 95% (α = 0.05). The findings showed a significant relationship between work discipline and employee performance (p = 0.005), a significant relationship between workload and employee performance (p = 0.000) and a significant relationship between competency and employee performance (p = 0.004). Work discipline, workload and competency were significantly associated with employee performance at Hidayah Deli Tua General Hospital in 2026. Therefore, hospital management is expected to improve employee discipline, manage workload proportionally and enhance employee competency through continuous education and training to improve overall employee performance. | 1 |
