| Abstract | The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is part of the digital transformation of healthcare services aimed at improving the quality, efficiency, and security of patient data. The success of EMR utilization is influenced by various factors, including healthcare workers' performance expectations and business expectations. This study is aimed to determine the relationship between performance expectations and business expectations and the utilization of EMR in outpatient services at Madani General Hospital, Medan, in 2026. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 46 healthcare workers using EMR in outpatient services, and the entire population was sampled using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 82.6% of respondents had high performance expectations, 80.4% had high business expectations, and 84.8% had good EMR utilization. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between performance expectations and EMR utilization (p=0.001) and between business expectations and EMR utilization (p=0.002). It was concluded that performance expectations and business expectations were significantly related to the utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in outpatient services at Madani General Hospital, Medan. The hospital is recommended to improve training, user assistance, and the quality of the EMR system to support optimal utilization. | 1 |
