| Abstract | ABSTRACT Nurazila. The Formulation and Evaluation of an Abdominal Hydrogel Mask Based on Centella asiatica (L.) Extract as a Support for Improving the Clinical Appearance of Stretch Marks. In 2026. Thesis. Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Deli Husada Deli Tua Institute of Health. (Supervised by apt. Anggun Syafitri, S.Farm., M.K.M., M.Farm). Stretch marks are skin changes caused by damage to collagen and elastin fibers. Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. contains secondary metabolites that have the potential to improve skin condition. This study is aimed to formulate and evaluate the physical quality and stability of an abdominal hydrogel mask containing Centella asiatica ethanol extract as a supportive treatment for improving the clinical appearance of stretch marks. This study employed an experimental laboratory design. The extract was obtained by maceration using 70% ethanol. The hydrogel mask was formulated into four formulations: F0 (without extract), F1 (2.5%), F2 (5%), and F3 (7.5%). The evaluations included organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesiveness, viscosity and organoleptic stability during two weeks of storage at room temperature. The results showed that the simplicia characterization met the requirements of the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia, with an extract yield of 12.64%. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids and triterpenoids. All formulations met the physical quality requirements, with pH values ranging from 4.62 to 5.50, spreadability of 5.63–6.17 cm, adhesiveness of 5.58–8.37 seconds and viscosity of 3,444–4,510 cPs and remained stable during two weeks of storage at room temperature. Based on the results of the physical quality evaluation and stability test, formulation F2 (5% extract) was identified as the best formulation due to its well-balanced physical characteristics.
