Abstract Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints among workers, especially those who work in a static sitting position for long durations. LBP is defined as pain in the lower back area between the last rib and the gluteal fold that can reduce work productivity and quality of life. Home-based tailors are part of the informal sector who have a high risk of experiencing LBP because sewing work is done in a bent, repetitive sitting position with long working hours and non-ergonomic work facilities. Based on the initial survey conducted in Deli Tua Timur Village, many home-based tailors complained of lower back pain after working all day. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between working duration and sitting posture with LBP complaints among home-based tailors in Deli Tua Timur Village, Deli Serdang Regency in 2026. This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all home-based tailors in Deli Tua Timur Village, totaling 39 people. The sampling technique used was total sampling so that the entire population was used as the sample. Data were collected using questionnaires and observation. Sitting posture was measured using the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) method. The research variables were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test using a p value <0.05. The results showed that most respondents worked > 8 hours/day, 27 respondents (69.2%). Based on the REBA assessment, 33 respondents (84.6%) had a risky sitting posture. The distribution of LBP complaints was severe pain in 17 respondents (43.6%), moderate pain in 12 respondents (30.8%), mild pain in 9 respondents (23.1%), and no pain in 1 respondent (2.6%). The statistical test results showed that there was an association between working duration (p = 0.001) and sitting posture (p = 0.001) with Low Back Pain complaints. It is recommended that home-based tailors manage their working hours, take regular breaks and stretching, and apply ergonomic sitting positions. Business owners are expected to provide ergonomic work facilities and health workers should provide education regarding LBP prevention. 1
