| Abstract | Red beetroot (*Beta vulgaris* L.) contains antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids and betalains, which have the potential to be utilized as active ingredients in cosmetic formulations. This study aimed to formulate an ethanolic extract of red beetroot into a face mist, evaluate the product's physical characteristics, and determine its antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. This experimental study involved face mist formulations containing red beetroot ethanolic extract at concentrations of 5% (F1), 10% (F2), and 15% (F3), alongside a control formula without the extract (F0). Evaluations included organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, sprayability, drying time, and antioxidant activity based on IC₅₀ values. The results indicated that all face mist formulas met the physical evaluation requirements. Antioxidant activity testing yielded IC₅₀ values of 289.19 µg/mL (F0), 69.83 µg/mL (F1), 63.82 µg/mL (F2), and 51.59 µg/mL (F3), respectively. Higher concentrations of red beetroot extract resulted in stronger antioxidant activity. Formula F3, with a 15% extract concentration, exhibited the best antioxidant activity, which was classified as strong and approached the "very strong" category. In conclusion, the ethanolic extract of red beetroot (*Beta vulgaris* L.) was successfully formulated into a face mist that met physical quality standards and demonstrated good antioxidant activity. The 15% extract concentration proved to be the most effective formulation for antioxidant activity. Future research is recommended to explore the use of red beetroot extract in other dosage forms and at higher concentrations. | 1 |
