| Abstract | Breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altitis) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids that may show antibacterial activity. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of liquid soap made from the ethanol extract of breadfruit leaves against Propionibacterium acnes at concentrations of 7.5%, 15%, and 22.5%. The study used an experimental approach to test the parameters required for evaluating liquid soap preparations. The preparation was evaluated for organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, foam height, and free alkali. The results showed that the breadfruit leaf ethanol extract liquid soap at 7.5%, 15%, and 22.5% met the requirements. Its antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes was categorized as strong, with the highest average inhibition zone diameter reaching 20.33 mm among the tested concentrations. | 1 |
