| Abstract | Staphylococcus aureus is a normal flora on the skin that acts as a pathogen that causes infection. One way to prevent the spread of bacteria is by using antiseptic soap. Along with the public's need for more practical products, paper soap has become an innovative in preparations that are easy to carry and use. Lime leaves (Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle) are known to contain secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, and saponins that have the potential to be antibacterial. This study aimed to determine the paper soap formulation from ethanol extract of lime leaves (Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle) against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in vitro. The method used in this study is experimental, involving paper soap formulations in three extract concentrations: 15%, 20% and 25%. Physical quality evaluations included organoleptic parameters, pH, foam height, weight uniformity, washing time and irritation test. Antibacterial tests were carried out using the disc diffusion method. The results showed that all paper soap formulas complied with the quality evaluation parameters and exhibited antibacterial activity. The highest inhibition zone was obtained at a concentration of 25% with a diameter of 16.66 mm, categorized as strong. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the paper soap formulation from lime leaf ethanol extract can be used as an effective herbal paper soap alternative against Staphylococcus aureus.
