| Abstract | Lenglengan plants are widely used as traditional medicine, including as a wound cleanser, dysentery medicine, diarrhea medicine, hair washing medicine, hemorrhoids medicine and to get rid of the smell of sweat. UV-Vis spectrophotometry is one of the most frequently applied instruments in the analysis or detection of compounds such as flavonoids based on their light absorbance. The purpose of this study was to determine the flavonoid compounds which were analyzed using a qualitative test so that the levels of flavonoids in the ethanol extract of Lenglengan leaves were obtained using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Method Lenglengan leaves were taken as samples. Extraction using maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent. Qualitative testing of flavonoids was carried out by adding concentrated HCl reagent, Mg powder while quantitative testing used UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Results: The results of qualitative testing with the addition of concentrated HCl reagent, Mg powder were positive for flavonoids. Quantitative test results using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with a maximum wavelength of 431 nm using standard quercetin and operating time of 25-35 minutes. The linearity obtained shows a good correlation (r=0.9972) with the linear regression equation y=0.07737x + 0.0201. The average content of Lenglengan leaf flavonoids was 4.3242% (4.3242 mg/g). The accuracy obtained at a concentration of 6 ppm meets the requirements according to Harmita with an average recovery value of 98.04%. The precision obtained is 1.410%, this indicates that the method has a good precision value. LoD and LoQ results for lenglengan leaf samples were 0.65485785 and 1.98441773. Conclusion: Lenglengan leaves (Leucas Lavandulifolia Sm.) contain secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids. Lenglengan leaf extract (Leucas Lavandulifolia Sm.) can be determined by validating the analytical method using quercetin standard. And qualitative testing on lenglengan leaves (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) was positive for flavonoids. | 1 |
