| Abstract | The palm oil plantation sector is an industry with a high risk of workplace accidents due to the use of sharp tools and challenging terrain. Compliance with using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) plays a vital role in minimizing these accident risks. However, the compliance level among palm oil harvesters in the field still varies. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with compliance in using PPE among palm oil harvesters at PTPN IV Regional 1, Rambutan Estate, Tebing Tinggi District, in 2026. This Study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population of this study consisted of all 40 harvesting workers at PTPN IV Regional I, Rambutan Estate. Total sampling was applied as the sampling technique, making the entire population the sample of this study (40 respondents). Data were collected using questionnaires and data analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. Univariate analysis showed that the majority of respondents were compliant with using PPE (65%), possessed good knowledge (57.5%), exhibited positive attitudes (62.5%), and demonstrated good work behavior (55%). Bivariate analysis revealed significant relationships between knowledge (p-value = 0.002), attitude (p-value = 0.001), behavior (p-value = 0.000), and PPE availability (p-value = 0.000) with compliance in using PPE. This study concluded that the factors of PPE availability, knowledge, behavior, and attitude have meaningful relationships and play an important role in increasing PPE compliance among palm oil harvesters. The company is advised to continuously provide proper PPE, improve Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training programs, and strengthen supervision in the field.
