| Abstract | Electronic Medical Records (EMR) represent a form of information technology application in hospitals aimed at enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of healthcare services. However, implementation faces several obstacles that can affect EMR usage. This study aims to analyze the factors hindering the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at the Medical Records Unit of Namira Hospital, Palembang, in 2026. A descriptive research method with a qualitative approach was employed. Informants comprising key, primary, and supporting informants were selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews and observation, while data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Research findings indicate that the factors of man, machine, method, material, and money continue to hinder the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Regarding the "man" aspect, training on EMR usage has not been conducted regularly, resulting in inconsistent understanding of the system's full range of features among staff. Issues identified under the "machine" aspect include slow loading times, internet connectivity disruptions, and system errors. Regarding "material," the limited number of computers in certain service units and unstable internet connections have impacted the smooth delivery of services. In terms of "money," the budget allocated for system development, equipment procurement, and training remains contingent upon the hospital's financial capacity. Conversely, the "method" aspect does not pose an obstacle, as the hospital has established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that are clear and easy to understand, and which are effectively implemented by all staff members. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at Namira Hospital Palembang is still influenced by factors related to human resources, systems, facilities and infrastructure, and the budget. Therefore, the hospital needs to enhance staff training, improve system and network quality, increase supporting facilities, and optimize budget management to ensure the implementation of Electronic Medical Records proceeds more effectively and efficiently. | 1 |
