| Abstract | The Relationship Between the Duration of Work Experience of Inpatient Coders and the Accuracy of Diagnosis Coding at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. M. Thomsen Nias in 2026. Undergraduate Thesis, Department of Health Information Management, Faculty of Public Health, Deli Husada Deli Tua Institute of Health Sciences (Supervised by: Bd. Peny Ariani, SST., M.Keb) The accuracy of diagnosis coding is an important aspect of medical record management because it affects the quality of health information, hospital reporting, and healthcare financing. One factor that may be associated with coding accuracy is the coder's length of work experience. This study aims to determine the relationship between the length of work experience of inpatient coders and the accuracy of diagnosis coding at UPTD RSUD Dr. M. Thomsen Nias in 2026. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study consists of 5 inpatient coders, including 2 coders with less than 3 years of work experience, 2 coders with 3–5 years of work experience, and 1 coder with more than 5 years of work experience. Data were collected using observation sheets to assess the coders' length of work experience and the accuracy of diagnosis coding in inpatient medical records. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analyses to determine the relationship between work experience and diagnosis coding accuracy. | 1 |
