| Abstract | Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is one of the risk control measures that plays an important role in preventing occupational accidents, particularly in high physical-risk jobs such as oil palm harvesting. This study aimed to determine the relationship between compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use and the risk of occupational accidents among harvester workers at PT PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk Begerpang, Deli Serdang Regency, in 2026. A quantitative method with an observational design and a cross-sectional approach was used. The study population consisted of all harvester workers in Division 1 of PT PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk Begerpang, and a total sampling technique yielded a sa mple of 40 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaire distribution. Univariate and bivariate analyses were conducted using the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). Results showed that 52.5% of respondents complied with PPE use, while 47.5% did not. Most respondents (55.0%) had a low risk of occupational accidents, 37.5% had a moderate risk, and 7.5% had a high risk. Bivariate analysis revealed a significant association between PPE compliance and occupational accident risk (p < 0.001). Workers who complied with PPE use mostly (90.5%) had a low accident risk, while non-compliant workers mostly (84.2%) fell into the moderate-to-high risk category. In conclusion, PPE comp liance is significantly associated with occupational accident risk among harvester workers. The company is recommended to improve supervision of PPE compliance, enhance the availability and condition of PPE, and conduct regular occupational health and safety (OHS) training as a preventive measure against workplace accidents. | 1 |
