| Abstract | Adolescent reproductive health is an important aspect of improving the quality of human resources. Lack of knowledge and unfavorable attitudes towards reproductive health can increase the risk of risky sexual behavior, drug abuse, and HIV/AIDS transmission in teenagers. This research amed to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of teenagers regarding reproductive health behavior in Bandar Sakti Village, Bajenis District, Tebing Tinggi City in 2026. This research uses a quantitative design with a cross sectional approach. The study population ware 341 adolescents, with a sample of 77 respondents selected using simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test at a confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05). The results showed that the majority of respondents had negative attitudes as much as 62.3%, bad knowledge as much as 59.7%, and bad reproductive health behavior as much as 48.1%. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between attitudes and reproductive health behavior (p = 0.001; OR = 5.238; CI 95% = 1.866–14,700). Adolescents with negative attitudes are 5,238 times more likely to have bad reproductive health behavior than adolescents with positive attitudes. In addition, there is a significant relationship between knowledge and reproductive health behavior (p = 0.000; OR = 6.429; CI 95% = 2.277–18.147). Adolescents with poor knowledge are at higher risk of having bad reproductive health behavior. It was concluded that knowledge and attitudes were significantly associated with adolescent reproductive health behaviours. Therefore, it is necessary to improve reproductive health education through families, schools, health workers and the community so that teenagers are able to form healthy and responsible reproductive behavior. These efforts are expected to reduce the risk of risky sexual behavior in adolescence optimally. | 1 |
